2023 Stand Down Serves More Veterans than Ever Before

A gloomy overcast day at West Los Angeles VA Medical Center on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 set the stage for a very successful Stand Down Event. In fact so successful that there was a 65% year over year increase in attendance. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 834 Veterans made their way to the largest annual event serving unhoused and at-risk Veterans and their families.

Village for Vets was honored to be a part of this event for the 7th year in a row! Our team was there offering rapid rehousing and homeless prevention services through our Supportive Services for Veteran families (SSVF) program as well as information about our other programs, sleeping bag coats from Empowerment Plan, give aways, and more!

The Stand Down is one of the best ways for the VA and community partners to come together and serve vulnerable Vets.
