Abel Martin
Veteran Resource Director
Abel Martin is no stranger to being of service, having served in the Navy for over 4 years, and currently going on 12 plus years of working in the field of veteran services in Los Angeles County. Specifically, Abel has served veterans via various programs and models of treatment including inpatient Clinical Treatment GPD shelter, inpatient Harm Reduction HCHV shelter, VASH- VA Supportive Housing, and SSVF-Supportive Services for Veteran Families. Prior to joining Village for Vets in May of 2024, Abel Martin worked for non-profit organizations, such as Volunteers of America, and People Assisting the Homeless. Abel is a Certified Peer Support specialist, MSW, and a veteran with lived experience in many areas including homelessness. He is quick to share his testimony and proud to inform you of the fact that his passion for this work grew while he was navigating homeless services himself.
